How do I connect to an AC10 using RS485 Communications?

Equipment Needed

AC10 drive, RS232 to RS485 converter, PDB.

Procedure

  1. Connect RS485 converter.

    NOTE: The 120 Ohm resistor must be removed to work with PDB but must be in to work with TS8000 (HMI) communications.
  2. Set up the computer's COM port.

  3. Set PDB protocol.

  4. Set AC10 protocol.

  5. AC10 Communication Settings
    Mode = RTU
    ASCII Mode
    Byte Function
    1 Start Bit (Low Level)
    7 Data Bit
    0/1 Parity Check Bit (None for this bit in case of no checking. Otherwise 1 bit)
    1/2 Stop Bit (1 bit in case of checking, otherwise 2 bits)

    RTU Mode
    Byte Function
    1 Start Bit (Low Level)
    8 Data Bit
    0/1 Parity Check Bit (None for this bit in case of no checking. Otherwise 1 bit)
    1/2 Stop Bit (1 bit in case of checking, otherwise 2 bits)
