XPC2, XPR2 and EPX2 PowerStations no longer include audio hardware (SB975)

Note for projects created before version 2.1.6 with audio features may or may not work with the new hardware. Thus all projects need to be updated to firmware 2.1.6 before using the new hardware.

Subject:  XPC2, XPR2 and EPX2 PowerStations to remove audio chips

Parker Electromechanical Automation announces that XPC2, XPR2 and EPX2 PowerStations will no longer include audio hardware.

Description and Features

The EPX2, XPR2 and XPC2 PowerStations were officially launched without audio as a supported feature, despite this Parker EMN has been shipping these products with audio chips installed since release. Our limited supply of audio chips is now coming to an end and Parker EMN will discontinue offering this undocumented feature effective April 15, 2012, or when supplies run out, whichever comes first.

Impacted product codes are all models of the XPC2, XPR2 and EPX2 families:

XPR2????-2P?

XPC2????-??-???

EPX2????-??-???

? = Any character in this position.

Effective Dates

All impacted units will transition on or before April 15, 2012.

 

Note: When updating projects, the XPR2 binary files for firmware update are different than XPR binary files. Thus the flash back utilities are different for the XPR than XPR2: 

Note that XPR20 is XPR2 headless. XPR26-15 is for XPR2 units, any size between 6 and 15inch.
